🥦 Healthy Chicken Tikka Masala Recipe 🥦
📝 Ingredients
- 500 grams boneless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces 🍗
- 1 cup Greek yogurt 🥣
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice 🍋
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon chili powder (adjust according to your spice preference) 🌶️🔥
- 2 tablespoons olive oil 🌿
- 1 large onion, finely chopped 🧅
- 3 garlic cloves, minced 🧄
- 1-inch piece of ginger, grated 🧄
- 1 cup tomato puree 🍅
- 1 cup coconut milk (light or reduced-fat)
- Salt to taste 🧂
- Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish) 🌿
📖 Method
01.Combine the Greek yogurt, lemon juice, cumin, coriander, turmeric, paprika, garam masala, chili powder, and salt in a mixing bowl. Combine thoroughly.
02.Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, coating them thoroughly. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight, for maximum taste.
03.In a skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Cook until the onion is transparent, about 5 minutes.
04.To the skillet, add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Cook for another minute, or until aromatic.
05.Fill a blender or food processor halfway with the onion, garlic, and ginger mixture. Blend in the tomato puree until smooth.
06.Return the mixed mixture to the skillet and simmer for a few minutes over medium heat to let the flavors to marry.
07.Cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, after adding the coconut milk.
08.Preheat your grill or oven over medium-high heat while the sauce is boiling.
09.Grill or bake the marinated chicken for 10-15 minutes, or until cooked through and slightly browned.
10.Cook for 5 minutes after adding the cooked chicken to the sauce.
11.Taste and adjust the salt and spices to suit your tastes.
12.Before serving, garnish with chopped fresh cilantro.
